EMERGING SINGER/SONGWRITER GABRIELLE LOVELACE RELEASES FIRST SINGLE FROM UPCOMING EP

Gabrielle Lovelace launches the first single, “Songs That Understand,” from her upcoming EP. Deeply personal, the song offers a glimpse into the musical world that has shaped her as an artist and songwriter.

A love letter to the eclectic soundtrack of her life, the track is a stripped-back ode to the songs that have accompanied her through seasons of uncertainty and hope. It honors the musical moments that have helped articulate what she couldn’t always put into words. Through vulnerable storytelling and acoustic production, featuring Lovelace’s touch on the ukulele and piano, “Songs That Understand” reflects on music’s ability to give voice to what can otherwise remain unspoken. Recorded by the open door of the Old Bear Records studio on a rainy evening, the track breathes with ambient street sounds.

“Songs are nothing short of miraculous to me,” shares Lovelace. “They’re threads of science, math and emotion all woven into sonic tapestries which have the power to change lives. Even the songs that are hyper specific have a way of resonating with us for various reasons. There’s a universality in the specificity of lyrics and music. And tapping into the magic of that is what I’m deeply passionate about. For every unexpected experience I go through, I always thank God for songs that understand. Every now and then, when I can’t find one (though I’m sure it exists), I simply write whatever it is I need to hear.”

The release, celebrated with a concert at the Old Bear Records studio in New York, marks the beginning of a new chapter for Lovelace as she prepares to unveil Poetry In Emotion, a project exploring the poetical nuances of life. “Songs That Understand” is available here on all streaming platforms.
